Walmart's New Eye Bot Kiosk: 15-Minute Eye Exams for $25 (or Free for Sam's Club Members!) (2026)

Walmart and Sam’s Club are expanding a novel approach to vision care by introducing “Eye Bot” kiosks as a test in Pennsylvania. The rollout spans 16 locations: 12 Walmart Vision Centers and 4 Sam’s Club Optical Centers. Each kiosk is designed to provide a complete eye exam in about 15 minutes.

According to Jason Wong, Walmart’s Regional Health & Wellness Director for Pennsylvania, these kiosks help bridge gaps in areas with limited access. He notes that the Eye Bot enables clinical staff to devote more time to the broader, comprehensive care they’re specially trained to deliver, while the kiosk handles the initial assessment.

Pricing for the eye exam is $25 at Walmart locations, with Sam’s Club members receiving the service at no cost.

This initiative signals Walmart’s continued push to integrate convenience with healthcare services, potentially reshaping how customers and members approach routine eye care. And as with any new healthcare technology, questions about accuracy, privacy, and the role of clinicians in digital screening remain topics of discussion among experts and consumers alike.
