The agreement establishes a framework for these companies to collaborate and enhance their respective infrastructures. Telespazio's Lunar Communication and Navigation System (LCNS), developed as part of ESA's Moonlight program, will work in harmony with Intuitive Machines' Space Data Network (SDN), which manages NASA's Near Space Network Services (NSNS).
Intuitive Machines has a unique vertically integrated approach, connecting various space mobility platforms and data networks into one unified system. This innovative structure extends the Internet of Things (IoT) into space, allowing vehicles and sensors to become network nodes, collecting and sharing data. With Space IoT, mission teams can stay in space longer, operate farther, and make faster decisions.
Spacecraft, including satellites and lunar landers, act as relay points, transmitting data across the SDN. This unified architecture, built on Intuitive Machines' space infrastructure backbone, supports partners like Leonardo and Telespazio, as well as global programs and commercial customers.
