A Shocking Revelation: The Fantastic Four's Hidden Secrets!
Get ready for a behind-the-scenes journey into the world of Marvel's Fantastic Four: First Steps. This blockbuster film, which hit theaters just a few months ago, has a story that's even more fascinating than the one on screen.
The Unheard Score: A Composer's Dilemma
Michael Giacchino, an industry legend known for his work on Marvel and DC projects, revealed a surprising truth during a recent panel. He composed two scores for Fantastic Four: First Steps, but only one made it to the final cut.
"I wrote an entire score that you probably won't hear. It just didn't feel right when I saw it with the film," Giacchino confessed.
But here's where it gets controversial: Giacchino's first score, crafted before the film's final version, was a guiding light for the director and crew. It helped set the tone and vision for the movie.
"It was like a roadmap. I think every movie should hire a composer first and let them guide the tone," he suggested.
The Film's Success: A Critical and Commercial Hit
Despite the score change, Fantastic Four: First Steps was a massive success. Directed by Matt Shakman and written by a team including Josh Friedman and Eric Pearson, the film introduced a new generation to Marvel's First Family.
Starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, the film grossed over $521 million and received rave reviews.
Giacchino's MCU Horror Special: A Sequel in the Works?
But that's not all. Giacchino, who has composed for five other MCU films, also directed and scored the 2022 Werewolf by Night special, a horror gem set in the MCU.
"I'd love to do another Werewolf by Night special. We're just waiting for the industry to stabilize before we decide what's next," Giacchino said.
And this is the part most people miss: Giacchino's score for Fantastic Four: First Steps is now available on Disney+, but his MCU horror special remains a one-off.
So, will we ever see a sequel to Werewolf by Night?
What do you think, fans? Is there a place for more MCU horror, or should Giacchino focus on other projects? Let us know in the comments!
