Alex Lowes, a Bimota racer, exuded childlike enthusiasm during the Jerez World Superbike test, despite the weather constraints. The test, held just a month before the 2026 World Superbike season's opening round, was marred by poor weather, limiting the riders' track time. Lowes, second-fastest on Thursday, managed only 16 laps on the final day due to rain, unable to test new forks and parts effectively.
Lowes expressed his disappointment, stating, 'It was nice to get out, but a little frustrating that we couldn’t get more work done.' He added, 'I was like a big kid' after finally getting on the track with slick tires in the afternoon. Despite the limited laps, he enjoyed the experience, noting, 'I still really, really enjoyed it.'
The Briton's focus shifted to electronics, where he experimented with new settings, feeling confident and picking up on the November test's sensations. He aims to improve his lap count in Portimao, hoping for better weather, and plans to test components for Philip Island. Lowes is eager to continue his collaboration with the team, expressing satisfaction with the bike's performance and anticipating further development.
